Microwave Corn on the Cob Microwave corn on the cob is a great way to go if you are short on time or if you have run out of cooking surface. This is a stepbystep tutorial to show you how easy and delicious this method can be.
First take a pair of kitchen scissors and cut the very top of the husk (where the silk comes through and looks like a long beard) off, so the tip of the corn is barely showing. Next we want to get some moisture into the corn so it steams as it cooks in the microwave. If you have the time, take your ears of corn and soak them in a large container of water for 30 minutes prior to cooking. If you don't have that kind of time, wrap the ears in a damp towel. Next we want to place the ears in the microwave and set for 3 minutes per ear and start. After half the time has elapsed, turn the corn over so the side that was facing down is now facing up (unless they are wrapped in a towel, then just leave as is). Once the corn is finished, remove it from the microwave and wait 3 minutes before stripping off the husk and the silk. These should strip off quite easily (CAUTION: The corn will be very hot). Skewer the ends and dress with your favorite corn on the cob toppings. As you can see this is an extremely easy and fast way prepare corn on the cob. Enjoy! Note: If you are grilling, the above method can be used and the corn can be finished on the grill for those nice grill marks and that great grill taste. http://microwavecornonthecob.blogspot.com Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Dan_Robinett |
