Chocolate Shortbread
All
children love shortbread and chocolate so here I have combined the two.
This recipe is very easy for children to make as long as they are supervised
whilst in the kitchen.
Ingredients:
6oz/175g of Plain Flour
4oz/100g of Butter
3oz/75g of Light Brown Sugar (or caster sugar to vary the recipe)
2oz/50g of Cocoa Powder
Pre-heat oven to 160°c/325°f/Gas 3
Lightly grease 2 baking trays or a flan dish.
Measure the flour, cocoa, sugar and butter into mixing bowl and mix until the
mixture comes together to form a dough.
Either place into flan dish and press mixture around evenly or roll out on a
floured work surface until about 5mm thick.
Cut into circles and place on baking tray.
Prick the shortbread all over with a fork.
Bake in the oven for about 15/20 minutes.
Place on wire rack, sprinkle with sugar and leave to cool.
My children love these shortbreads and we make them in a variety of different
flavours. Chocolate is our favourite.

Many people who are trying to lose weight wonder is pasta healthy or fattening? Pasta, like many foods high in carbohydrates, often gets a bad reputation for being fattening; however, this does not have to be true.

Joy of Cooking recipes are still some of the most popular throughout the whole of America. The book "Joy of Cooking" was first released way back in 1931 by Irma Rombauer and since then it has been updated many times. It is one of the most talked about cookbooks because its recipes are easy to make and simple to follow. It has many sections which other cookbooks just don't deal with.

While I do not currently work outside of the home, I remember well the days not so long ago when I juggled the responsibilities of job and family. The worst of course was the years that I managed as a single mum; having to do it all...alone. There were some tricks I learned then. And the value of lasagne was one of those lessons.

Pasta salad is one of the few foods that can be eaten as a side dish or as a main course. Countless recipes call for any number of ingredients to produce a variety of flavorful salads, each with its own special taste. Some recipes call for vinaigrette dressings, while others call for creamy mayonnaise or milkbased sauces. Most any type of pasta can be used in a salad, and nearly every vegetable can complement the other ingredients in the dish. Its diverse nature and allaround appeal makes pasta salad a great addition to any gathering or family meal at home.
